Originally founded in 1989 as Budwood Nurseries, The 5th Room has been providing Bristol with local and reliable home and garden services.
The company started by Freddie Wood who comes from generations of fine craftsman. While producing his own award winning nursery and garden services in his early days, Freddie assisted and learned alongside his father Roy Wood, who was a master builder, building and developing an expansive knowledge of building and landscaping. Many of the buildings Freddie and his father worked on still stand tall across the country today.
Moving more towards the building industry, Freddie took up a job with Artichoke, a custom cabinet and furniture business. The knowledge again gained from his experience in the yard and on the job helped further develop his skill range to include technique such as dove-tailing, custom cabinetry, and creating custom finishes.
Wanting to incorporate all his knowledge and skills, in 2007 Budwood Nurseries was transformed into The 5th Room, with assistance from Community Service Volunteers
(CSV) training services, to expand the business and include building services. With CSV’s help Freddie combined his passion for horticultural and his extensive building skills into an ever growing business.
Since that day, Freddie and the 5th Room have provided its customers with cost-effective solutions to their home and garden projects and having pride in every job done.
